West Liberty favored in MEC preseason poll
The West Liberty University Hilltoppers have been selected as the preseason favorite in the Mountain East Conference men’s basketball poll for 2026-27. The vote, cast by the conference’s 12 head coaches, reflects West Liberty’s recent success, including a conference title last season. The Hilltoppers will look to build on that momentum and defend their standing against traditional rivals such as Shepherd and Glenville State. Being the poll favorite adds both confidence and scrutiny as the Hilltoppers aim for another championship run.
