Gannon Wins First-Ever DII Title — Then Watches Three Starters Hit the Portal
Gannon's 84-61 dismantling of Lander on April 5 at Gainbridge Fieldhouse delivered the program's first-ever NCAA Division II national championship and capped a 34-3 season. The celebration was short. Within four days, MOP Pace Prosser plus starters Lucas Sekasi and Victor Desmond all entered the transfer portal. Prosser has since committed to Siena. Gannon's Pace Prosser, the 2026 NCAA Division II Championship Most Outstanding Player, has committed to Siena according to the Times Union. Prosser averaged 18.6 PPG for Gannon's title team and dropped 28 PTS, 11 REB, 5 AST, 5 STL in the championship win over Lander. He becomes the first portal commitment for new Siena head coach Nevada Smith, who took over the Saints on April 1 after Gerry McNamara departed for Syracuse. With two years of eligibility remaining, Prosser arrives in MAAC country with a championship ring and an All-American resume.
